Holden's Adventra ceased production at the end of 2006. This page has been left for information purposes only.
The Holden Adventra found instant favour with Australian motorists.
Designed, developed and engineered in Australia, Holden is the first manufacturer to offer an all wheel drive vehicle specifically for our unique local conditions. Powered by the new Alloytec 188kW V6 engine, the Adventra is the result of Holden's $150 million investment designing and engineering a permanent all wheel drive "Cross Trac" system which will provide controlled, predictable performance on a wide variety of surfaces - dirt, shale, sand, gravel and ice included.
While Adventra is not intended to be a "rock hopper", its unique "Cross Trac" AWD system, unmatched power, good ground clearance and heavy duty componentry will allow it to meet most challenges its buyers are likely to encounter. "Cross Trac" will determine the optimum amount of torque split to achieve the desired optimum level of traction across all wheels.
True to its intended purpose as a versatile recreational wagon with a family-friendly focus, Adventra delivers advanced safety technology, flexible spacious and comfortably seating for up to 7 with the rear seat option, and loads of convenience features.
There's even a remotely operated rear tailgate glass section that lifts separately, and when the large tailgate itself is opened, it's much more accessible than conventional 4WDs due to it's lower floor height.
Holden engineers developed the Cross Trac AllWheelDrive system specifically to cope with Australian driving conditions. It's a system that combines a complex series of technologies, to provide stability, grip and control where you need it most. It's a system designed for all the extremes this killer country can throw at a car.
Let's Get Technical: A transfer case at the rear of the automatic transmission splits the drive, front (38%) and rear (62%). Three open differentials then distribute the power to each wheel as required. Automatic Brake Differential (ABD) senses wheel slip and then redistributes power, giving you as much power as possible through every wheel. Whether you're on dirt, gravel, sand or snow, Cross Trac AWD takes the twists, the turns, the corners and chicanes and bends them into submission.
