Factory Fitted LPG System

LPG is now available on Omega, 60th Anniversary and Berlina sedans, and Omega auto utes as a factory option only. Holden do not recommend converting VZ or VE engines to LPG after manufacture.

VE V6 Omega, Berlina & Omega Ute LPG

Holden factory fitted LPG is now available on all VE sedans and utes fitted with the base Alloytec V6 engine - that is Omega, Berlina and Omega auto ute. The system is a Sequential Vapour Gas Injection (SVGI) system which injects gas directly mimicking the petrol injection sequence. The tank is 73 litres usable and fits at the rear of the back seat in the boot (or at the front of the load area in the ute tray). Petrol tank capacity remains unchanged at 73 litres, and the vehicle will operate on both LPG and petrol, with a potential of 1,400 kilometers.

The factory fitted dual fuel system has specifically built engines, featuring hardened valve seats, and upgraded rear suspension. It is covered by Holden's 3 years/100,000km warranty, and the standard 15,000 service interval remains unchanged.

The engine starts on petrol until optimal LPG operating temperature is achieved when the system will automatically and seamlessly switch over to LPG. If you run low on LPG, the car automatically switches back to petrol.

All vehicle safety systems including Electronic Stability Control still function with Holden's LPG system.

Both fuel fillers are concealed under the existing filler flap.

LPG fuel economy is 15.5 litres/100km for VE sedans, and power is comparable at 175kW (180kW petrol).

This fully integrated system is available under the Australian Government's LPG subsidy scheme ($2000 rebate subject to qualification as an approved private purchaser), effectively making the cost of LPG only $400 (after rebate) on sedans or $1,400 on utes.

Holden's LPG system is not available on the Sports Wagon.
